prop 8 rally

Tonight I participated in a prop 8 rally with many many others. I wanted to be apart of something that I believe in and to show my support. I had so much fun with the people who I love and it was great to be there together on an issue that we all feel so passionately about. Prop 8 is a vital issue this election year. We had three vote no people join us and we were pleased at how nice they were. This is such a passionate and hot topic, but we took picutres together with them and appreciated each others right to opinion and the right of speech. We also drove down to another intersection with alot of no voters to the prop 8 and waved our yes on 8 signs proudly. One thing that I felt was ironic was that someone yelled at us "vote no on 8 stop the hate you M*#@#*$ F*@#$%#^# and other choice names." And I thought we are standing here in support of yes with smiles and being positive and respectful. Who are the haters?? THe majority of people who drove by were in support of the vote yes on 8 and I am grateful that I was able to participate tonight. I will never forget this expeirence.

I read this on my good friend Laura Jacklin's blog and in her words she wrote this:

"We are voting yes on Proposition 8 to restore the definition of marriage as being between a man and a woman. This vote DOES NOT take away the rights of individuals in civil unions or domestic partnerships.

If Prop. 8 fails, it will not be long before our freedom of speech & religion will be in serious jeopardy. I want my children to be raised in a manner that I deem appropriate; not the state, school district, or other organization.

Opponents of this historic initiative think supporters are being intolerant and unfair to the homosexual community. I have to strongly disagree. Intolerance has reared it's ugly head in form of "yes on 8" signs being stolen repeatedly off PRIVATE property, cars with "yes on 8" bumper stickers being vandalized, and uninvited protesters showing up at a church party with small children around screaming "WE'RE GIRLFRIENDS & VOTE NO ON 8."

TOLERANCE IS A TWO WAY STREET."

I could'nt have written it any better than that tonight...I am too tired. haha...so I stole..well I use her words (:...for those of you who are unsure, pray and think deeply about this moral issue and how it could and will affect your life. I know I have been and I feel confidant that a vote yes on this issue is so important to our country and to our families...

Happy Voting!

Vote yes on 8!!!

We are faced with so many important issues this year. Many took alot of time, thought, and prayer. One of the most important issues is Prop 8. This decision will effect our nation, our children, our lives. I have chosen to vote yes on prop 8 for several reasons. Prop 8 is about the defintion of marriage. Marriage is between a man and a woman and God. It has been this year for 2,000 years. We need to protect marriage and what it creates....families. Vote yes on 8 for your family, freedom of religion, freedom of being a parent and having rights. Vote yes on 8!!

Chick Fila

Our local ChickFila has a Kids night every Tuesday from 5-8pm. We went this past Tuesday and had a fun time! Kids eat free and they have crafts, a clown, the cow, face painting, and balloon animals. Each kid also gets a free ice-cream cone and they get to go behind the counter and make it themselves. They loved that part! Every week they do something different. This next week they are having a dinosaur dig. We may go...eating fast food every week isnt going to help my figure...hmmm....tons of fun though! The kids loved it!
