Date Festival and the Post of many pics

Every year while David was growing up his family would go to the Date Festival in Indio, CA. It was a tradition of theirs because David's Mom grew up there and she would sing in the pageant and her Mom would have a pork sandwich stand to make money. They would always participate. Even while David was a kid, his Mom would sing in the pageant. We continue to tradition with our family and really have a lot of fun when we go! this year we stayed for a comic who was a German man..and very funny. Then we stayed for the pageant and the concert...

Dylan, Grandma, and Sammie with Clifford Plummer. Claudia taught him voice lessons and he works in the Palm Springs area performing now. He was in the pageant as a main character.

The kids really wanted to go down the super slide...and Dave said I should go and then the kids made me go too. It is a dark picture but we are there. The scary part was walking up the steps and then getting on the platform to get on the slide. It was rickety and shaky...too much for me!

In high school I liked several bands. One of them was the Gin Blossoms..they had a few songs that were ok. They were the concert this night. We went and about 5 minutes into it Dylan says, "Mom can we go...you are old, this is old music...lets go." So we went...

Wierd Science

It was Science Fair time..we had 2 and 1/2 months to prepare! Dylan was excited to pick out a project and to be involved...at first. So he chose the mentos and coke project. he also wanted to build a rocket to launch using the power of Mentos, but I that was alot of work...And you would think that we would have taken the opportunity to use ALL the time that we had and to really ROCK the science fair project. One month prior to the project being due we got the supplies needed for the project. And then in the end one week prior to the project we thought about it again. Did the research and came up with our hypothesis. And then the day before, we completed the project...and I might add...doing the bare minimum to get Dylan an A+. I really didnt care about winning...poor Dylan. (: So here are a few pics from our grand experiment.



We went to the Science fair to see all the projects to tell Dylan how great his project is. We knew he would get a participant ribbon and I knew he would totally dig that and be ok with not winning. I told him that there will be alot of projects there that may be better than ours but that for next year we can see how and what they did and do it to win. This year Dylan didnt really know what all the steps were so I was more involved than he was...and i think t hat is how it goes for most. We were looking and came to his projects and it had a blue ribbon...that said honorable mention...which was wierd. So we counted all the blue ribbons to see what was up..there were 10. And then 6 finalist ribbons. Dylan was so excited. Dylan's teacher came up to me and said that the 2 judges were from the Dept. of Defense and after they judged the projects, came up to her to talk to her about Dylan's project. (Dylan's teacher was in charge of the fair) They wanted to know about Dylan and his project. Long story short, they wanted to continue him on to the district but we were missing a few things...darn (:...but that his project was one of their favorites. That made Dylans day and mine too...(: Maybe next year we will rock the science fair...

The baby is THREE!!!!

Wesley celebrated his 3rd birthday on the 20th. He is getting so big! I cannot believe that he is already hitting this mark. Time is going by so fast..I need it to slow down, and since it won't we are trying to make sure we make the most of our time. We had a great day! Davidhad the day off and we took Wesley to get new shoes and socks, big boy underwear...he chose Thomas the Train, lunch at Mimi's, a Shamu cake, presents, and dinner at John's Incredible Pizza. He wanted to add Shamu in the pool in the backyard, but we couldn't swing it for him...I know shocker!! haha (: He is a fun little..uhh...I mean big boy. He is so sweet and so fun! I am so glad that he is ours and we get to watch him grow, learn, and be. Happy Birthday Wesley!!

Here is Wesley's birthday cake...I think it could be tons better...but Wesley LOVED it!! He won't eat Shamu and keeps petting the Shamu and saying, "Don't worry we won't eat you." I am wonderin ghow long he expects to keep the Shamu part of the cake....hmmmmm.....

Genni

I came across this picture of Genni Bain today. I love it!! It is from our Valentine Day playgroup Party. Genni is so amazing!! She is the sweetest girl! She is always willing to have fun! Genni is always smiling and she is easy to talk to and be friends with! She has such a good heart. Genni is very giving of herself, her time, and her talents. I have recently learned that Genni loves music and her range of music is very very wide...all I need to say is Karaoke night...Gold Digger. She is a good singer too!! About as good as me! (: haha. I love to be around Genni, she is so sweet, fun, and kind. I love Genni! She has two of the cutest kids ever! Wyatt and Aurora...who is brand new. Wyatt is such a boy and is so fun to watch! He has the prettiest eyes. And I am sure that Aurora will be a little princess and alot of fun!! Genni will always stay close to my heart as a dear friend who loves a good time and does'nt worry who is watching! It is very catchy! And you can't help but smile and have fun when around Genni! I am grateful to have her as my friend. I have learned alot from Genni and she is such a great example to me. I enjoy watching her with her children and appreciate what a great mother she is~I am blessed to know her! Love you Genni!
