our family pictures

We finally, after 5 years, took our family pictures! We had an appt. set with a good friend of mine who does amazing work and Dylan got sick. I was so disappointed. We came across another opportunity with a different photographer a month later...who I highly recommend by the way. She rocks! She is so good and we had so much fun with her! She is sending my pictures to me but she posted a few to view so I thought I would do a blog post to share our first family pictures with our 3 kids! I dont know about you, but I hate pictures of me and I thought I needed to get over it and just do it! My kids won't know what I look like if I don't! haha I am so glad that we did and very pleased with how our pictures turned out...at least these 4! The kids started getting into our shoot and would pose and turned into "models"...I was impressed with their ability and thought that all the years of me taking tons of pictures was actually a good thing! So keep clicking away...that is the lesson learned! (: Thanks so much Melissa...you ROCK!!! Her blog is on my blog list as Moments Matter...check her out!

Festival of Trees

We went to the Festival of Trees today with my family. It was alot of fun and got us all in the Christmas spirit. The trees were so pretty and we were able to see Santa to let him know of our Christmas lists. It was a fun day!

The Grogan kids are THANKFUL!!

We had a long Sunday and the kids were getting restless and bored. Once in awhile I get a creative bug with my kids and do something with them. We made Thankful Indian feather hats and the kids were able to express what they were thankful for...

DYLAN is THANKFUL for...Dad, Mom, entertainment, ketchup, frosting, hamburgers, and legos
SAMANTHA is THANKFUL for...Dad, Mom, Grandmas, Grandpas, puppies, her brothers, and her JESSICA
WESLEY is THANKFUL for...Shamu, Mommy, Daddy, Grandmas, Grandpas, Shamu (yep..twice), and Thomas the Train.

Thanksgiving...

There are many things to be grateful for this year...family, friends, great husband, great kids, diet coke, fresh baked bread, movies, girls night, living in a free and wonderful country, anything chocolate, and so much more! We were able to be with Dave's family this year and his Mom and Dad had their life long friends Don and Peggy over with their son Jeff and his three kids, Reese, Peyton, and Cole. Dave's sister Kim and our nephew Lucas and his brother Chris and wife Renae and our niece Lindsay came too. And Chris had a childhood friend, Lloyd came with his family. We had a very FULL house...and had a wonderful time. I worked all day long Wednesday making rolls and cinnamon rolls, sweet potato casserole, and green bean casserole...and cleaned my mother in laws house. I was tired and never recovered. Of course..never too tired for black Friday shopping. We then went over to my Mom's and had Thanksgiving dessert with them. My whole family was there, minus Jessica...aka Hermana Campbell. It was fun to see everyone and spend time with them for a few days. I am grateful for traditions and for family. I am grateful I am married to a man who honors me, our children, and his responsibilities. He is my best friend...my hero....and I love him very much. I am grateful to have three beautiful and healthy kids. I am grateful to both my family and Dave's family for all that they do for us...we could never repay them for it. This Thanksgiving was a great time to reflect and think of all the things wonderful in my life...I am now ready for Christmas! (:

TWILIGHT nerd....I am in TWILIGHT heaven...

I was so excited for TWILIGHT to be in theaters Friday! It is great when a book you love can be brought to life. So I went with no expectation...it is hard to keep book readers happy when you take their beloved book and turn into a movie. TWILIGHT the movie was so good! I loved it! Robert Patterson...perfect Edward..I wasn't too convinced until I saw the movie...everyone was casted very well...it was great to see the book come alive! And of course with the release of the movie...my awesome girlfriends and I got together before the movie started and then stood in line for an hour and a half to get a good seat. I have never felt so old...so many teenagers! I guess I should have expected it...it was a teen book. We sat in our seats..got good ones, thank goodness!...and anxiously awaited for the movie to start. The excitement filled the theater...it was hard not to get swept up in it. These teens...would scream as each character was introduced, the kiss...oh man the kiss! I think it is one of the best kisses in movie history....oh man...and the girls went nuts! I do have a confession...when the girls would scream at each part...inside I was screaming too....haha...just now I am 30 and shouldn't do stuff like that. haha...and to tell you the truth, it made the movie experience more fun! However, I want to see it again...with out the screaming banshees...lol.

Party favors! I found these cute black Chinese takeout boxes and put on the movie poster and filled them with goodies..."Eclipse" gum, "nerd" candy, "kisses", "blood sucker", "candy bracelet with a candy heart charm, and a beef jerky stick...it is Jacob, we fried him up..haha, (:

Ok..here is my sad attempt to do something cool. I took a chocolate cake for the bottom and then took a red velvet cake and cut out the letters TWILIGHT in the twilight movie font...it looked good at first and then started to fall apart...I tried...at least it was yummy...

Food...yummy!

yes..that is scrapbooking...we did a scrapbook page for our pictures...it was something to do as we waited...and you know you want one too....(:

Becky Campbell, Vanessa Campbell, and Shannon Grogan...leaving to go to the movie..

I have the best friends! I had so much fun with these girls and so glad that they were as excited as I was and wanted to make a night of TWILIGHT! Thanks so much to all of them for coming and having a great night! Now hopefully they will make the 2nd and 3rd book into a movie very quickly...(:
